Lycee Libanais Francophone Prive, Dubai

A relatively small school Lycée Libanais Francophone Privé, located in Al Muhaisnah, caters to 960 mainly Lebanese national boys and girls aged three to 17 years.

Article en Francais

The school follows the French curriculum leading to the Diplôme National du Brevet. It was awarded for the first time in 2012. Note: The national diploma is a diploma taken at the end of 3ème (Year 10 or Grade 9). It is therefore the equivalent of the IGCSE, and students continuing education then study the Baccaluareate (Le Bac) between 16 and 18 years of age. The school has an upper secondary class for 16 to 18 year old students for the first time this year (2013/14).

Currently there are 87 teachers, supported by 24 teachers’ assistants and 10 administrative staff giving the school a good teacher to student ratio of 1:11.

The school has an early years section, the école maternelle, for boys and girls aged three and four; five classes in the école élémentaire, the primary school, and four classes in the collège, or secondary school. There is as noted one class in upper secondary.

The school has received a KHDA Good Ranking for five out of its six years. Post its one Acceptable rating the school re-engineered its curriculum, which is now rated Outstanding by Dubai’s education regulator.

Key strengths of the school include “Outstanding” attainment in French and English in all phases, and in mathematics in the secondaire; positive attitudes and very good behaviour of students; Outstanding teaching, learning and assessment in the maternelle phase and the outstanding learning in the secondaire phase; an outstanding curriculum, and a harmonious and supportive learning community established by all staff members.

Which School Advisor has not received any feedback in its ongoing survey for the Lycee Libanaise. We encourage parents at the school to complete the questionnaire which may be found here.

The KHDA reports that parents are largely satisfied with the quality of education provided by the school. Almost all believe that their children make good progress in key subjects, but they were less confident that progress was good in English. Parents express a high level of satisfaction overall with the quality of teaching and learning.

Fees at the Lycée Libanais Francophone Privé range from 21,000 AED to 40,000 AED per annum. Full details may be found below.
