Iqraa International School, Sharjah

Iqraa School Sharjah (also known as IQRAA International School) is a K-11 private school located in Muweilah.

Iqraa School School follows an American curriculum based on the “Common Core State Standards” for Mathematics and English Language Arts”,  and the school offers a number of subjects in English including English language, Math, Science and Computer Science from kindergarten through to Grade 11. For more on the common core standards, go here. For Social Studies, Arabic and Islamic Studies the school uses the curriculum developed by the UAE’s Ministry of Education.

Additionally the school follows a Ministry of Education curriculum with core subjects in Arabic, Islamic, Social Studies, Physical Education and Art. The school utilises international standardization benchmarks such as the TIMMS and PIRLS systems which allow students to match their capabilities against regional and international standards.

The school says it is also working towards the establishment of viable e-learning programs which encourage self-learning from home through the internet.

Facilities of the school include science laboratories, an art room, medical clinic and a library. The school claims a focus on providing up-to-date resources for core subjects such as Science, Mathematics and English to prepare students for future technological challenges. Sporting facilities include a swimming pool, basketball court, handball court and soccer field.

School fees as of 2014 range from 11,700 AED per year for KG students to 24,050 AED per year for Grade 12.
