Bright Riders School, Abu Dhabi

Bright Riders School, which absorbed the Indian Community Kindergarten (ICK), is a K- 12 (eventually) school located in Abu Dhabi. ICK itself was established in 1978 and until its closure catered to 500 students. Bright Riders, run by the same management company, was launched in 2013 and will eventually serve just over 4,000 students.

KG to Grade 6 opened in April 2013. The school adds Grade 7 and higher this year. The school follows the Indian CBSE curriculum, “enhanced with ADEC Activities for Life Program from Kindergarten to Primary Years”.

The Activities for Life program provides “structured activity-based learning program, enabling students to develop vital creative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills”.  The school says it will have a maximum of 30 students per class. That’s higher than the UAE average, but on par with many Indian curriculum schools.

Outside the classroom the school aims too offer a range of extra-curricular activities including house competitions and activity days; sports events (inter-school for older students); arts and crafts club; debating and environment clubs (for middle/upper students); games/computer club; a book club and says it aims to get its students involved with charitable causes in the community.

The school has space, operating on a 36,000 square meter campus. Facilities at the school include libraries, modern science and ICT labs, indoor and shaded outdoor play areas; an athletic track, a cricket and soccer field, a basketball court and a 25m indoor swimming pool.

The school also boasts a multi-purpose auditorium and gymnasium while a health focused cafeteria is offered for the school’s students.

School hours for KG run from 8.00 am – 12.30pm, and 8.00 am – 2.30pm for Grades 1 to 12.

2014-15 fees at the school are moderate and range from 8,400 AED for KG1, rising to 13,200 AED for Grade 6. Fees have already been set for Grade 12, and will be 17,400 AED.
