Ibn Seena English School

Ibn Seena English School is a private K-12 school located in Al Shahba, Sharjah.

The school was first built in 1978 under the patronage of the ruler Sharjah, H.H. Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohd. Al Qassimi and follows a British, English speaking curriculum with a number of qualification programs offered including A-level and iGCSE.

The school deserves credit in publishing its results which may be found here. Unfortunately, it is not possible to say exactly how well the school does because we are not told how many students failed to pass – statistics are only provided for grades A* through to C.

That said the school appears to do very well indeed. Of the 461 pass results at IGCSE, 23.5% were A*, 29.5% were A, 30% B and 16% C. In total the school recorded 461 results that constituted a pass.

At A’Level the numbers were considerably lower in terms of students appearing to take the examinations. The school’s web site tells us the school’s students achieved 73 grades A* to C, but does not tell us how many grades fell below the pass rate.

You may find the tables here.

The school appears to offer a number of activities besides the academic, but the school’s Web site does not really make clear what extra-curricular clubs are offered.

The school aims to offer quality schooling that is affordable: As of 2012 fees range between 5,530 AED for KG students to 10,688 AED for grade 12 students. Unusually, fees can be paid monthly. Detailed fee information here.
