GEMS Millennium School, Sharjah

GEMS Millennium School is a relatively new member of the GEMs Education family, opening its doors in 2010. A CBSE based school, it promotes heavily its warm and friendly approach, perhaps a sensible move given it would be too early to promote academic success.

The school is not yet a full K-12 school, but takes children from KG to Grade 8.

Feedback on the school is currently quite limited, but from what we have managed to obtain, most parents are happy with the quality of care, and the level of teaching at the school. The claim to be a warm school appears not just to be good PR. Satisfaction levels across the school’s stakeholders – teachers, parents and students, appears to be fairly uniformly above average, if not overwhelmingly so.

Interestingly the school claims a low student to teacher ratio – but does not state what the ratio is, or relative to what (Indian curriculum based schools tend to have a much higher student to teacher ratio than Western curriculum schools).

Facilities at the school are good – this is a GEMs school after all: Wi-fi is accessible throughout the school premises, classrooms are equipped with Promethean (Interactive) boards, OHPs and white boards, there is an indoor swimming pool, a sand pit for earlier year groups, a playing field in Sharjah with astro turf, a “spacious and airy library”, well designed computer labs, a music room, an infirmary, prayer rooms, and a bright cafeteria

Fees for GEMs Millennium for the 2014/2015 academic year start at 10,400 AED for KG1 and follow a fairly linear path upwards to 13,650 AED for Grade VII.

Transport fees are not included in this fee. Bus fees range from 1000 – 2000 AED – per term – depending upon location.
