Child Learning and Enrichment Medical Centre

Based in a villa in Jumeirah, Dubai, the Child Learning and Enrichment Medical Centre (CLEMC) provides support for children with special needs and their parents. It is the special needs education and medical services branch of the Child Early Intervention Medical Center (CEIMC) in Dubai Healthcare City.

CLEMC offers outpatient services, classroom and group teaching using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to assist children with inclusion into mainstream schools.

Clients for its Developmental Pediatric Services include children with Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Cognitive Disabilities, Autism-Spectrum Disorders, Speech and Communication Disorders, Genetic Syndromes, Chromosomal Anomalies, Physical Disabilities,  Birth-related Traumas along with any other Disabling Condition, Disease or Impairment to Development.

In general parents will be referred from hospitals, medical staff, clinics and/or nurseries. However, a formal referral is not necessary – anyone can make a request or initiate services. The centre will provide an initial and on-going assessments in order to understand the developmental needs of the child. It then provides an “Individualized Education Plan” to outline the course of intervention, identify resources and deliver support for the family.

Ongoing monitoring of the patient’s developmental milestones are taken at regular intervals.

The centre provides a range of specialised services including Psychology Services and Assessments, Specialized Outpatient Services, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Music Therapy, while core services include Parents and Professional Training, a Child Learning Day Program, an Arabic Learning Day Program and an After-School Support Program.

Classes for 2-5 year old and 5-7 year old children operate 3-5 days per week. Fees are estimated to be in the range of AED 7,000-9,000 per month.
