Hi-Tech Recycling Centre To Tour Dubai Schools

A new ti-tech mobile recycling centre is set to tour Dubai’s schools teaching school-children about recycling.

The Dhs 500,000, ‘Smart and Sustainable Oasis Recycling Centre’ introduced by the Waste Management Department, will spend three weeks at each school, demonstrating how to recycling 25 different types of waste.

Made from two large containers, the centre will showcase state-of-the-art technology allowing children can watch educational films before applying their newly learned recycling knowledge in the same facility.

Abdul Majeed Abdul Aziz Al Saifaie, director of the Waste Management department, told Khaleej Times, “the young generation is the future, and it is highly important that we instill the habit of recycling in them from a young age. They will grow up to teach their children to protect their environment.”

The centre will start in Government schools from January 2017, before moving on the private schools in ‘phase two.’

For those who don’t want to wait for the mobile school centre to visit their school, Dubai Municipality has also installed similar facilities in Karama Park, Al Manara Center on Shaikh Zayed road, Hatta and Al Rashidiya, with more to follow.
